Mackenzie
Scott
has been a keen angler from a very early
age catching his first salmon at the age
of 10. He has been a full time ghillie
on some of the best salmon rivers in
Scotland for over 17 years, and over the
years has helped his clients catch over
two thousand salmon. Scott has also been
keen and successful in competition
Fly-casting, winning many prestigious
titles throughout the world. From being
Irish International Spey-casting
champion in 2004, to winning the CLA
game fairs Musto International
Spey-casting championship 2003-2004
which is the largest Spey-casting
competition in the world. But it was in
2005 that Scott really showed he was in
a class of his own by winning the three
biggest Spey-casting competitions in the
world. The first of these was the
Spey'o'rama held by the prestigious
Golden Gate Angling and Casting Club in
San Francisco, USA where he was honoured
by being asked to do a casting
demonstration showing his unique style
to the club. He then went on to
win the Irish International Spey-casting
Championship in June and in July won the
CLA International Spey-casting
Championship at Belvoir Castle in
Leistershire for the third time running.
During this competition he also set a
new Spey-casting world record, casting a
massive 68 yards using his unique style
of casting making him one of the most
successful competition Spey-casters of
all time.
